It all started with four little paws…

BAO, before being a brand, is first and foremost him.

A little Miniature American Shepherd who came into our lives at just two months old, after leaving his breeder located in the Vaucluse.

Today, Bao is slowly approaching 5 months old and one thing is certain: he has already completely turned our daily lives upside down.

Intelligent, cuddly, playful… but above all incredibly curious, Bao seems to want to discover everything around him. A new smell, an unknown path, a rustling leaf, a sound in the distance: everything becomes an adventure.

And he clearly doesn't lack energy to go and explore them!

Our desire: to introduce him to our world 🏔️

Long before Bao arrived, the mountains already held an important place in our lives.

We love hiking, gaining altitude, discovering new landscapes, going on treks and sometimes extending the adventure by bivouacking.

So when we decided to welcome a dog into our family, we already had this image in mind: a little four-legged companion with whom to share all these adventures.

We couldn't wait to see him discover his first trails, run in nature, drink during a break in the middle of a hike, sleep near us after a long day of walking…

In short, to make a place for him in this lifestyle we love so much.

But preparing his first adventures also led us to ask ourselves many questions.

Which harness to choose?
Which leash to use for comfortable hiking?
How to easily carry his water?
Which bowl to slip into the bag without taking up all the space?
How to combine comfort, safety, and practicality?

And most importantly: what do we really need to go on an adventure with our dog?

What if BAO became more than a personal adventure?

Little by little, an idea began to germinate.

We were looking for equipment for Bao. We compared products, imagined our future hikes, and thought about everything that could make our outings with him simpler and more enjoyable.

Then we realized that many other people must probably be asking themselves the exact same questions.

This is how the idea of BAO – Balades & Aventures Outdoor was born.

A store imagined around a very simple idea:

help you enjoy your adventures with your dog more.

From daily walks to weekends in nature, from first hikes to slightly more ambitious bivouacs, we want to select practical, useful and suitable accessories for these shared moments.

Tested in real life 🐕🌲

BAO grows at the same time as this project.

And that's probably what makes this adventure so special for us.

The products, advice, photos, and stories you'll discover here are not meant to stay behind a screen.

We want to take them with us.

On the trails.
In the forest.
In the mountains.
Bivouacking.
Under the sun… and probably sometimes in the rain.

Bao will therefore be much more than the brand's mascot.

He will be our first adventurer.

As he grows, we will share here his first hikes, our discoveries, our mistakes, our advice, the equipment we use and, above all, all those little moments that make life with a dog so special.

The adventure is just beginning.

When we welcomed this little two-month-old furball, we were far from imagining that a few months later it would give birth to a project like this.

Today, Bao is growing.

BAO is too.

And we want to build both adventures together.
